Katie Blake Product Guarantee – Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of Guarantee

This Guarantee applies exclusively to products sold under the Katie Blake brand and is extended to the original purchaser only. The duration and terms of coverage vary according to the specific product category and material, as set out below.

This Guarantee is non-transferable and commences from the date of delivery or collection. It operates in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under consumer law.

2. Duration of Guarantee by Product Category

3-Year Structural Guarantee

Applicable to the following ranges, including tables, chairs, benches and loungers:

  • Aluminium
  • Woven
  • Fabric
  • Rope

2-Year Structural Guarantee

  • Pergolas

1-Year Guarantee

Applicable to the following components and products:

  • Parasols, parasol bases and covers
  • Furniture covers
  • Cushions and cushion boxes
  • Lazy Susans
  • Firepit parts and protective shields
  • Table-tops (Ceramic, Ceramic Glass, Glass, Teak)
  • Upholstery fabrics (faux leather, textilene, solution-dyed fabric)
  • Adjustable-height table mechanisms
  • Recliner and lounger mechanisms
  • Piston mechanisms
  • Protective feet and caps

3. Exclusions and Limitations

This Guarantee excludes claims arising from or relating to the following:

Fair Wear and Tear & Misuse

  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, stains, burns, cuts, scratches, scuffs, and indentations.
  • Improper use or negligence, including damage by pets or exposure to unsuitable environments.
  • UV exposure: Fading due to sunlight or discolouration of teak (which naturally turns silvery grey).

Weather, Force Majeure & Environmental Damage

  • Fire, flood, or acts of God.
  • Damage from extreme temperatures, high winds, or other weather events for which the furniture is not designed.

Natural Characteristics

  • Fading or expansion of resin weave due to sunlight or temperature, including sagging or cracking of the weave.

Aluminium Paint Oxidisation

Flaking due to oxidisation is a natural chemical process and is excluded from this Guarantee.

Cushions & Upholstery

  • Cushions must be stored indoors during extended periods of non-use. Mould, mildew, or animal damage caused by improper storage (e.g. under non-breathable covers) is excluded.
  • Upholstered fabrics may be affected by dye transfer (e.g. denim). This is not a manufacturing defect.
  • Any water ingress due to exposed vents or improper storage.

Tabletops

  • Manufacturing defects in Spray-Stone, Ceramic Glass, and Teak tops must be reported within 7 days of delivery.

Coastal Exposure

  • Painted aluminium products exposed to salt air may corrode more rapidly. Regular cleaning is required in coastal areas. Corrosion from such exposure is excluded.

Improper Use or Maintenance

This Guarantee shall be void where:

  • Products have not been maintained or assembled in accordance with instructions.
  • Modifications or repairs have been carried out without the prior written consent of Katie Blake.
  • Products are stored or used in a manner inconsistent with guidance (including misuse of protective covers or non-breathable materials).

Commercial Use

Unless expressly agreed in writing, products used in non-domestic or commercial environments are not covered. Where agreed, a 1-Year Frame Guarantee applies to commercial use.

4. Guarantee Activation

To activate your Guarantee, registration must be completed within 28 days of delivery at: PRODUCT REGISTER

Proof of purchase is required. Uploaded receipts must clearly display the date of purchase and authorised stockist. Without activation, this Guarantee may not be honoured.

5. Making a Claim

To submit a claim under this Guarantee:

  • Contact the point of purchase (e.g. garden centre or authorised stockist), supplying proof of purchase and detailed photographic evidence of the issue.
  • The retailer will assess the claim and determine appropriate action in accordance with these terms.
  • Where a valid claim is accepted, remedies may include: repair, replacement of parts, or a partial refund (at Katie Blake’s sole discretion). Where products are over 12 months old, return to stockist or Katie Blake may be required at the customer’s cost.

6. Limitation of Liability

In all circumstances, Katie Blake reserves the right to:

  • Undertake the most cost-effective remedy (repair, part replacement, or refund).
  • Take ownership of any replaced or refunded product.
  • Limit any claim to the original purchase price paid.

7. Data Usage

Data collected during Guarantee activation is used for product support and marketing communications (where opted in). Personal data will not be shared with third parties without written consent.

8. Right to Amend

Katie Blake reserves the right to revise this Guarantee at any time. The version in force at the time of purchase shall apply.

9. Statutory Rights

This Guarantee operates in addition to, and does not affect, your legal rights under UK consumer law. For guidance, contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

Important

Retain your proof of purchase. It is a condition of this Guarantee that a valid receipt or purchase confirmation is provided upon request.
